Spirituality is Like a Cheese Pizza By Al Fuentes

One of the most popular foods on the planet is pizza, and it goes all the way back to 997 AD. Like everything else, there has been a battle for the bragging rights to pizza from Chicago to New York to Italy. Now everyone has their own opinion on pizza, and when you think of it, your version of pizza may be different than others. They have thin crust, thick crust, wheat crust, you can get a white pizza now, and even pizza’s that look like a garden went and threw up all over the top of it. But, when you are asked the question, “What is the most basic pizza?” The answer is almost always a cheese pizza. Why? Well, cheese pizza is what most people think is the base pizza, before you start changing it or specializing it. So what is my point, and how does this relate to spirituality? I will tell you as I need to finish this article because I have made myself very hungry!

The Effect of Consciousness on the Body

The extent by which consciousness can take control over the body is remarkable. Biofeedback research, for example, has shown that individuals can learn to control brainwave activity, affect cardiovascular and respiratory functioning, reduce skin temperature, and voluntarily modify many other autonomic processes of the body.

John Basmajian, M.D., Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, McMaster University, Canada, who is a pioneer in biofeedback research, demonstrated that people could learn to consciously control individual neurons and muscle cells. Single cell control through consciousness offers the possibility that one can affect any part of one's body, knowing how this works.

Meditation Found to Increase Brain Size

January 23, 2005

People who meditate grow bigger brains than those who don't. Researchers at Harvard, Yale, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have found the first evidence that meditation can alter the physical structure of our brains. Brain scans they conducted reveal that experienced meditators boasted increased thickness in parts of the brain that deal with attention and processing sensory input.

Getting in the zone can be something you can create.  It doesn't just have to happen by accident but it is important to understand how to get in the zone.

This video talks about one of the simple steps to get you there.  Preparation Breath which is one of the 4 breaths in my breathing system.

I am not a sports psychologist or a counselor but I have learned how to use the physical body to master the chemical body (emotional body) to over come our mental obstacles.

Many elite athletes have used me to take their game to the next level because its not about talking its about action. The time or talk is over, it is now time to train our mind like we train our bodies. Consistent work will make you a mental champ!
